For the love of Lavender....

It's been a very dry Spring and now that the rains have finally arrived our lavender field is breathing a wee sigh of relief... as are we! Less evenings walking the newly planted rows with a watering can! However, where there is rain there are WEEDS. The dreaded pesky little friends dare to invade our plants and as I fought the blazing heat we have had in the last few days to weed the rows, today I decided to take to the field very early to beat the heat and rain with the littlest member of our lavender team safely tucked up asleep in her buggy. I am so glad to report that the rows I planted last summer are looking big and strong and have lots of lovely little green flower heads on them, so fingers crossed for the possibility of a very first harvest from them this autumn.
